Dear St. Joseph School Families,
Beginning with the 2025-26 School Year, St Joseph Catholic School is implementing the requirement for each family in Grades PreK-8 to provide a minimum of 20 volunteer hours within a school year. Not only will you be helping the school, but also you will be able to get to know other families in our community. The hours can be served by a parent, grandparent, or family member who is 18 years of age or older, with current Criminal Background Clearance and Child Protection Compliance on file in the School Office. Volunteer hours must be completed between August 1, 2025, and May 14, 2026.
Families may accumulate service hours in many ways such as volunteering for:
● Committees
● Classroom Assistance
● PTF Events (Signup Genius will be sent out)
● Dinner Auction
● Recess Duty
● Fish Fry
● Sports Activities
● Parish Events
● Church Picnic
If you are in need of service hours, please look in the Friday newsletter for service hour opportunities or contact our school office.
Volunteer hours are recorded by the individual, and then the hours are verified by office staff.
For graduating 8th grade families, hours must be recorded and fees paid prior to graduation.
Please Note: Families will be billed for all incomplete service hours at $15.00 per hour. Turn in all forms by May 15, 2026, to avoid being assessed any fees.

Recess Volunteers
We’re looking for volunteers to help supervise and ensure a safe and fun environment during recess for our students.
Details:
Location: School playground (or gym if it is raining)
Days Needed: Monday - Friday
Two shifts available each day:

Time Commitment: 11:00 – 11:25 a.m. (2 people needed, K-8th grade recess)

Time Commitment: 11:25 – 11:50 a.m. (1 person needed, PreK recess)
