Pre-Kindergarten Dress Code
Pre-Kindergarten students may wear the school uniform, but it is not required. Children should wear comfortable clothes. Tank tops, spaghetti straps, and pajamas are prohibited. Costumes may be worn only on specified days authorized by the school. Artificial nails, including press-on nails, colored nail polish, stick-on tattoos, and makeup are prohibited. Jewelry is prohibited except for post earrings, which must be small enough so as not to cover the earlobe. If you child is unable to button his or her pants, please use pants with elastic waists. Children must wear tennis shoes with socks. Socks must cover the ankle during normal wear. It is also required that parents provide a change of clothes in the event of bathroom accidents. Accidents will be handled with a minimum of attention.
Kindergarten through 8th Grade Dress Code
Boys - K-8th Grade
- Khaki knee-length shorts or long pants worn with plain navy blue or black belt
- Plain navy blue short sleeve or long sleeve polo shirt; must be worn tucked into shorts or long pants
- Plain navy blue cardigan or pullover sweater or crew neck sweatshirt (no hoodie or logos)
- Plain navy blue or black socks that cover the ankle during normal wear
- Tennis shoes
Girls - K-4th Grade
- School plaid jumper with plain white or navy blue short or long sleeve polo
- Khaki skirt with plain navy blue short or long sleeve polo
- Navy blue skirt with plain white short or long sleeve polo
- Khaki shorts or long pants with plain navy blue or long sleeve polo shirt
- Navy blue shorts or long pants with white short sleeve or long sleeve polo
- Polo shirts must be tucked into skirts, shorts, and pants
- Plain navy blue cardigan or pullover sweater
- Plain navy blue sweatshirt (no hoodie)
- Plain navy blue or black socks that cover the ankle
- Plain navy blue or black knee socks or leggings (no logos)
- Tennis shoes
Girls - 5th-8th Grade
- Navy blue or school plaid uniform skirt (bottom of hem at the top of the knee)
- Navy blue shorts or long pants
- Plain white short or long sleeve polo (must be tucked into skirts, shorts, and pants)
- Plain navy blue or black belt
- Plain navy blue cardigan or pullover sweater
- Plain navy blue crew neck sweatshirt (no hoodie)
- Plain navy blue or black socks that cover the ankle during normal wear
- Plain navy blue knee socks or leggings (no logos)
- Tennis shoes
Jackets and coats are considered outerwear for grades K-8 and may not be worn in the classroom.
Spirit Wear attire may be worn on Spirit Days. Spirit Days will be held on a designated day to coincide with the opening of boys and girls sports seasons, and are longer held on every Friday.
Uniform Store
The St. Joseph PTF maintains a "Uniform Store" on the upstairs floor of the former convent, located next to the playground. Here, parents can shop for gently used uniform clothing for their students at a greatly reduced price. Proceeds support the PTF.
